the only thing i would need is a window to stare out occasionally. why does the office need to be different? people are writing code hopefully. Not some sort of tribal bonding sessions. That's for Gawker types.

Moonshine Mike

With all the tacky ass colors I've seen go up around the common areas of the office I work in lately I am VERY grateful for the plain white of the walls in the office I actually do my work in all day. For a number of reasons.

Also, @nethaqr: your words strike directly to the heart of the matter. <3 And mine. If only everybody understood that paint doesn't sway VCs who are busy checking your server room to make sure you aren't going to melt down right after they sign the check. The world would be such a beautiful place.

giania

The Mozilla office is what *any* startup should look like prior to actually turning a profit. Fancy design and such is a waste when you are burning up funding. I'd rather spend the money saved to pay for more talent and infrastructure. Of course that presupposes an attitude that sees the purpose of an office as a place to do work rather than a surrogate (and leveraged) status symbol.

nethaqr
