and now even high rollers are on facebook...like all the big guns at GOOGLE, famous celebrities (although a lot of fake profiles exist, but if you're keen you can find the real ones).....

if you're still anti-facebook in 2008, you have no friends.

not to sound like an elitist recent college grad, but it's the best way to keep in touch with friends and to let your friends know what you're up to.

it was 'ok' to be anti facebook in 2005, but now it's simply taken over.

it's so much a part of our culture that people say 'i'll facebook you'....when they meet someone new for the first time.
facebook is the number 2 website for photo uploading.
there are more ridiculous statistics about usage (which is more than once a week- more like 10 times a day, every day).....on the website. check it out.

IMHO Facebook's Icarus Zuckerberg waited too long to IPO. Tech markets suck ballz right now and if the US consumer gets worse, not better, in '09 advertising-driven business models will not be attractive to the public equity markets.

Cash(flow) is king, and a plateau-ing user base won't go far in convincing hedge funds who rode GOOG down to 425.

The only way Facebook gets a strong IPO valuation is if they spin off a very small sliver of equity, say 5%; demand from retail investors alone would probably support a valuation over $1 bn. That's when you short the f*ck out of it.

FadBook and the rest are big jokes. The ones that will be left holding the bag are the investors who were obviously high at the time.

FadBook employees look at private profiles for fun. There is nothing business-like going on there other than fleecing the VCs.

While I don't sympathize with the VCs, that money has to come from somewhere not-glamorous. Those are the ones who get screwed.
