Leo plans to do 25 hours a week. If he gets 750 viewers per hour that's 18,750 viewers per week. $100,000 divided by 52 weeks is $1,923.07/week. Doesn't that work out to a $109.89 CPM rate? Either way what this piece doesn't get is that, even at $110 CPM, Stickam is getting a great deal. Leo brings quality, legitimacy, and huge amount of buzz in Stikcam's target market. I just hope Leo's presence cleans up the neighborhood. Stikcam at the moment seems to be mostly soft core webcam porn.

Plus feeding off of the knowledge of others is a smart move, you can't learn it all yourself. And no, I don't listen to Steve Gibson. I listn to TWIT, Macbreak Weekly, and his radio show. Like I said, mostly entertainment value. But as someone who does desktop support he can be informative sometimes too.

1. Stickam is not owned and operated by a Japanese porn company! Unfortunately that link was to a story that appeared last year which was inaccurate, to say the least

2. Stickam is live streaming, rather than video sharing

3. Re $100K, makes it sound like Stickam is writing Leo a check for $100K which is not the case (!). I don't know what the $$ terms are. I do know sponsorship and revenue share are part of the agreement. When the agreement is signed Stickam will make an announcement

I don't really care whether Leo's an expert or not as long he produces entertaining and informative content and TWiT is one of the better independently produced podcasts out there.

That being said, I caught the first TwiT live this past weekend on Stickam, and it really didn't do much for me. What's that saying about a face for the radio...

It was moronic -- Leo would talk over Dvorak, answering caller questions he clearly didn't know anything about. Dvorak, clearly more of an expert than him, could hardly get a word in.

I think he now has a radio show on KGO on weekends. I haven't bothered to listen, and I sure as hell didn't follow him to podcasting.

The first and last TWIT show I heard a couple of years ago featured the two of them talking about AJAX (the web programming technique), and their ignorance of what it was didn't prevent them from yacking for twenty minutes.
