I had the original Akimbo box a couple years ago. There was some niche programming from the UK and Chinese stuff you couldn't get here as well as some American programs (HGTV, Food Network, etc). When that crashed, it was downhill in a hurry.

I worked at Akimbo until the end. These other comments are from people who are just being negative or left before they got to know this new team. The fact is the current exec team had a next to impossible task of saving a company that had already failed to turn a 40+ million dollar investment into something. Huge legacy issues. This is a smart, capable team doing what they can to save a ship that the original team all bailed from ... PERIOD! I for one hope they make it happen... With the current team, this is the best chance they have had in years.

The original Akimbo crew were a great team of really talented professionals ( I worked with them for a really enjoyable year.) The problem is there is no money in IPTV. The Cable COs are not going to give it up easily and the phone companies will spend large on it so the opportunity for the Akimbos/Building Bs etc is small at best.

The last time I used my Akimbo box the content was really horrible. Once they gave up on the box there was literally nothing left to that service. A few Comedy Central reruns and a low budget movie featuring vampires in the deep south.

Or maybe these people already have other jobs and don't need to worry about what a failing blip of a company thinks. Generally people aren't quick to "rip on their employers" if they are treated fairly and with respect.

Why do you think your "sources" are anonymous? They've already been fired so what's the big deal? Of course, if what they're saying is a pack of lies, there might be good reason to hide. Who will hire them in the future if they're known to anonymous lie and rip on their employers? I think Tom Frank should post a few of their photos . . .
