@deathbychichi: You've actually got that backwards; there was a right-of-first-refusal provision which apparently expired when eBay launched Kijiji. But the most recent fight had its origin because Craigslist tried to institute a new right-of-first-refusal provision.

Techdirt is claiming that Craigslist had the right to do that because they had a clause that if ebay started competing with them, they could sell their shares without a right of first refusal. Thus, when eBay brought Kijiji to the US, Craigslist began the process of exercising that provision.
