Wow that's really important as long as you know what those numbers mean and what a normal house has for those so you have some reference point, but 99.5 percent of people do not so it actually means nothing in practical terms to anyone.
Prius owners spent 35 grand on a car that gets the same mpg as a 1986 Chevy Sprint or Honda CRX which only costs $1800, or $3800 with a rebuilt engine and new interior. Hmm yes they sure are a savvy lot. Glad they didn't buy that and then purchase $29,000 worth of rain forest land.

When not online looking at car porn, I'm online looking at house porn. It's that or study for my upcoming Civil Procddure exam. So, the porn wins. While there is no cure for smug, and no excuse for that silly sticker, I quite like Kaufman's Glidehouse. It's a bit like a double wide, but by Crate and Barrell. These could be the end times.

I don't think this is a bad idea. Use of a buzz-word (correct or not) might be.

Of course, there are a shit-ton of assumptions built into some of those figures. (Location, orientation...which is stated, surrounding terrain, energy sources) This isn't like a nutrition label where they can say for certain how much of a certain substance is in it. The only thing they can know for certain is the square footage and the R-values.

bottom line, people are being more careful (or at least trying to be thoughtful) about their impact on the planet. ARe some people smug? Sure. Are some of them exhibitionists? Sure. But so are you. Ass holes who try to make the world a little better are generally better than the run of the mill assholes.
