@Buffy_Doo: She's not in Silicon Valley. Smart women in Silicon Valley succeed in limited amounts, they got called cold and bitches because men get intimidated by them. Ask Marissa Mayer. You can't tell me it's not a misogynistic atmosphere, much more than it is a meritocracy.

She's a by-product of the Hiltonization of the entertainment industry, where it's clearly better PR to appear effortlessly inane than well-informed. I merely posit that behind closed doors she is much more intelligent and calculated that everyone presumes.

hmm, she has found a niche, but it feels fake. But that's what showbiz is. Finding a niche and exploiting it until the interest wanes. Props for that.

Perhaps ire is raised because these 3 are not the brightest lightbulbs and silicon valley is the one place where ugly people (with the exception of DC) can get rich/ famous/ whatever based on their brains. In the valley (maybe not as much on vallegwag) we praise people for their intellect, and rewards are supposed to be based on hard work, brains, and a little bit of luck, not tits, open mouths and niche that come along and secure funding instead of the next zuckerberg.

Some start-up should hire her for PR - she knows how to garner it.

I see the real problem being that the real celebrities are starting to work under the radar, particularly those that are trying to do good works (See: Clooney, Cheadle, etc) with the fame they have been given.

The overblown attention-whore is the tabloids' bread and butter. Without someone putting themselves out there yelling 'look at me! look at me!', they have nothing to write about without making things up (for which they could potentially get sued).
