I've never owned an iPod, but turning off AppleMobileDeviceService.exe, iTunesHelper.exe, iPodService.exe, etc., requires special hacking.

Now Apple's been caught bundling Safari in its Windows Quicktime Updater. Google tries to fob its toolbar off on you at every turn. Yahoo's toolbar shows up in Adobe app installs. And of course Windows is one big bundle of crapware. No one is pure here.

Not to mention that it did in fact come with the OS on a disk also, except that I didn't HAVE to wipe the drive, it worked right out of the box.

I've used windows PC's for years and just got fed up of the little things failing or not working right all the time. It was simple as that, and the switch has been awesome so far.

As to your point about Starbucks, if someone REALLY thinks I look like an asshole because I'm using a laptop with an apple symbol on it instead of an HP symbol or Dell symbol, thats really kinda sad. I'm just trying to get my work done. And trust me I'm well aware that Steve & co. cares about me just as little as any other PC company, so that doesn't bother me either.

And I have a Zune, not an iPod. I'm not stupid enough to pay 99c a song until I've spent $10,000 on DRM'd music to fill an iPod. The Zune Marketplace for $15 a month with unlimited downloads works very nicely for me.

So thinking I'm some kind of fanboy is kind of silly no? I just use what works best for me. Try a Mac out sometime, you might just find you like it better than your dell too. Or not. But that's YOUR choice. :) cheers!

They offer limited quantities (think 3-5 per store) of their weekly "promotion" laptops that they advertise, then when those handful are sold, they try to sucker you into purchasing a "Geek Squad enhanced" laptop at a higher price point; which ranges from $50 for a "adware free" version to $150 for a "adware free + antivirus & anti-spyware version...awesome scam preying on the fears of the nontechies...

Turning on a Dell or Sony laptop with all that crapware is like going to a blog with some pretty good content, but you cant see it because the site is covered in those annoying pop-over ads. Why don't these people GET IT.
