I'd hate to admit it tremans, but I made the same mistake a few years ago as well. Some business buddies and I were bored as hell and wanted to give it a go.

The reason the record grinded to a halt is because there is only one door separating outside and inside. No double doors or anything. When the door is open, sunlight washes the place like a searchlight.

Those guys are now on the East Coast so I'm not scared to admit my mistake from long ago. :-)

Well... there is always the Hanky Panky in Redwood City. ha! Seriously though... I was fresh off the boat from the mid-west 10 years ago and decided to check it out one day.
And soon as I walked in, it was like one of those scenes in a movie, where the door opens, the record scratches and goes silent, and the entire bar turns and looks at the door. Not a place for young gringos. Frankly, not a place for any sane person really.

In Santa Clara County, only Pink Poodle and Kit Kat have this. If you want any real action it's either a field trip to Nevada or SF.

If it was my choice, I'd be in Nevada.
