While I feel for each and every person who received the news, not sure that number is anything to write home about. Besides, once they get over the next few days, they will end up happier and better off anyway. While the company still has its current VPs on up, I would not want to work there either. It needs to get rid of the Directors, VPs and other execs that are a complete waste of space and can't make any decisions without consulting 71 other people first.

I still think that at this time of need, ALL execs should be paid a base salary in line with market trends, and TOTALLY PERFORMANCE BASED BONUSES/STOCK OPTIONS, ETC. As long as you don't have anything directly related to performance, nothing good will come of it. Too many people have heard about the Yahoo Cash Cow and want a ride. Come on it, get a senior job, do nothing, make loads and leave.

Those of us in McTechJobs might hate them, but at least we don't feel any misplaced fondness for our employers. And it's Bangalore; tech jobs there are as easy to find as curry.
