Well for one thing, Jesus isn't God. He is the Son of God.
Unfortunately, people of all religions do not understand reason and logic, if they did they would see clearly that the Bible mentions in Ephesians 4: 4-6 that there is only one faith (religion) that God supports.
Furthermore, they would also be aware that the true God does not dwell in hand made temples (churches, mosques) Acts 17: 24.
With so much ignorance of Bible understanding around these days, is it any wonder why man and his indifferences in religion lead to so much strife, war and aggression in the world, especially when they can't get facts straight to tell the difference between man's doctrines and God's.

I am sure God laughs when he isn't crying at the mess man (yes mostly men rarely women) has made of things, the petty things people get their knickers in a twist about. It is fundamentally important that we don't censor or kowtow. We need to live on a planet when we defend the rights of those we disagree with to post their views. Any religion worth its salt (or God worth her/his salt for that matter) can easily stand criticism, pictorial representations and the like.

the funny part is i think most muslims that complain dont even understand the reason behind not showing pictures of "god"

The whole reason behind not displaying the picture is to try and prevent people from being fanatic about the PICTURE instead of the idea behind god. ( the exact thing thats happening ) The whole point behind it is that people shouldnt be upset or glorify the image, when that is exactly what the people complaining are doing, they are idolizing the picture instead of the idea. The picture does not insult muslims or god. Acting like a picture is an insult IS THE INSULT. They are insulting their own god by giving a picture "god like status"

Maybe it is because i am not religious that helps me to undersand this, i think many people can't see the forest thru the trees.

I was watching Jay Leno show the other night. His guest was Bill Maher, who is one of my fav. show host.
He said something very interesting on the show that night. This is was he said: "We in the west have religious fanatics like they have in middle east. The only difference between us and them is we dont listen to our religious fanatics but they do.
As a Muslim I was always taught the important of peace and respect to every human beings when i was taking religious classes.
Yes it is said to be forbidden to publish any drawing of prophet Mohammed by any means. It is also said that any one who does something that is forbidden by Allah (God) can be punish only by Allah. So I believe fanatics of all religious try to play God (Allah) himself.
But I got to say this. I've started to believe all religious are made up.

This is ridiculous.

When you look up Wikipedia pages for topics such as sodomy or hard core pornography, you don't actually see pictures depicting these topics. Why not? Because it's extremely offensive to a large group of individuals. This exemplifies Wikipedia's "Non-Neutral" policy for censoring information to appease a particular group i.e. mothers, children, Mr. Rogers, etc.

Wikipedia should, out of respect of the people of the Muslim religion, remove the pictures that are at best arbitrary to the understanding of who Muhammad is known to be.

The reason being is because out of respect we don't depict the prophet in pictures (and I think also so people don't worship him. =P) I'm Muslim and this doesn't anger me in the slightest.

I think this has gotten out of hand though. The people don't have to believe that is him. The picture isn't even making a statement like the cartoon (plus it has some historic value)!

Do people seriously believe that there are no pictures (or attempted pictures, for that matter) of the prophet? They say there are books detailed onto how he exactly looks. Someone's bound to attempt at a picture!
