What really matter is content ! You can't say that every voting site ripped Digg ... From a community point of view I find it a nice idea. It's surelly nothing so original but who cares if it's funny ?

WinterMute78

Valleywag,
You suck ass. It's easy to play armchair quarterback here, which you have clearly done. To begin with, eBay owns this turf in terms of original content. Grilled cheese mary's rule over your lame ass pundit position of Digg owning the notion of Community participation. Get with it. The Web has progressed beyond the 'select few darlings' such as Digg. There is plenty of room for others, and in fact I would assert that eBay (if anyone) has a goddamn VIP pass to this stupid Web 2.5 party.

Maybe it's not "web 2.0-ish" enough, but I always thought you could tell which items were the best on eBay by just looking to see which ones were receiving the most bids. Sites like bidThumbs.com only show high-bid items or you can just scan down the search results for any search on eBay to see bid activity. "Interesting" has more meaning when people are willing to back up their vote with cash.

DonW

I totally disagree. For one thing, the originality debate is irrelevant (see Digg = Slashdot 2.0). All that matters is good/interesting/viral content and this page has it. From 'how to be invisible' to 'handwritten lee harvey oswald documents', there's something for everyone.

magnusdopus
