They won't, and as soon as the "adults" start cracking down on FB to make it a viable, serious, money making machine it will no longer be "cool" and too many adults will be on it and all the kids will flock to the next big thing.

Please! No effective way of stopping their own employees? Since the dawn of web sites collecting information, web sites have recognized the inability to rely solely on employees' word when it comes to protecting customer data. Methinks your idea-filled twenty-somethings are riding a little high on cloud 9, not blissfully ignorant of the implications of digging through someone's virtual diary.

It doesn't matter what their policies say. If the FTC says they need to changes things, they will.

Yes, background checks for people accessing personal information are pretty much mandatory these days (even if it's a simple credit/arrest check).
