It's unclear if the A-listers can make the jump and see the same ROE (return on effort) they saw before. Time will tell if they really can be friends with their audience and keep their attention in this new space.

Social media systems like Facebook are more personal. People go there looking for the ROI (return on interaction). Some of the A-list bloggers will see this new frontier as a massmedia platform and try to sign up as many friends as they can find. Some will strive to keep up but the majority will collapse under the pressure.

In the end, like email, the quality of the interaction with your Facebook friends/contacts will matter more then the large quantity of friends that don't really want to interact with you on a one-on-one basis.

The part of the blogosphere that protests to stay outside of Facebook and other social networks because of the interaction obligations will matter less in Facebook and old school A-list bloggers like Jason will continue scratch their heads and question why everyone outside the A-list is leaving Kansas.
