dunno... possible they inked a Japanese distribution deal in exchange for capital? thought Technorati-J was already out there, so not really sure.

Feedster also did some asian partnership deals that involved fresh capital, so might be a way to hedge the domestic bet via intl markets.

(... and this kind of quality guesswork + $3 will get you a cup o' joe at HarBucks Coffee, along with some underpants gnomes to boot ;)

Isn't it possible that this was some sort of option that was agreed upon during the last round, and only exercised now?

Technorati could be so great, and yet it's just so wrong. They could've been so many things, but instead they're just a blog search engine, and the second-best one at that. Sadly for them, the first-best one is Google.
