Here's a great site that's raising money for the victims of Darfur, Sudan. 100% of the proceeds go to 4 organizations. I know one of the guys running the site personally, and it's very legit and he is indeed picking up all costs in order to ensure all donations go to those in need.

And skip the Mars Society. It unfortunately is merely a vehicle for one mans self promotion. Large patrons have noticed this over the last 9 years, and never given again.

Here's an idea. Spend less time and effort railing about erudite, elitist issues like digital rights, and pick causes that matter to more than 2% of the planet. Then give them your money. Volunteering is great, but charities want and need your money more than your time.
