The latest profile of YouTube says the video sharing site hosts "everything from amateur videos made by teenagers goofing off to slick productions posted by the likes of Nike Inc, MC Hammer and the director of the upcoming movie Superman Returns." Yep, lots of video producers have put their own work on YouTube.
But why not mention all these great ad-free TV episodes on the site? There's some stuff worth publicizing here. Somehow, the guys at YouTube must have snagged deals with the makers of shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force — because YouTube's not for piracy or anything!
Okay, YouTube does acknowledge some piracy. That's why they've made rules like the 10-minute limit. The South Park creators must have really wanted to get their video up there for authorized use — they just chopped up the episode into three 9-minute pieces.
