"About three in four parents of young gamers never or hardly ever touch the stuff," reports an Associated Press poll. That might explain why so many tweens wind up with Grand Theft Auto in their Christmas stockings. What They Like, a startup, aims to guide out-of-touch parents through today's media landscape. Helmed by the Ziff Davis-fleeing executives Ira Becker and John Davison, the company's first project, What They Play, is a resource for clueless parental units. You know, so they don't wind up buying the ultraviolent Manhunt 2 for their toddlers.

Won't checking this website take just as long as checking out the videogame, or, God forbid, actually spending time with your kid playing it?
How would a parent play it with their kids if they haven't bought it yet?
Sounds like a great idea...good to see that gaming media is starting to be about more than just the fanboys.
I'm sick and tired of parents playing the 'oh I can't keep up with that stuff' or the 'confarndit technology, can't keep up with it card'. Hopefully this site will get these pathetic excuses for parents up to date and have them stop playing victim.
Time for them to balls up and take responsibility.
And how many time does it take for Senator BibleThumper to get on the boob tube during prime to remind parents that on EVERY SINGLE VIDEO GAME there is a little square on the bottom telling them the rating, and guess what! On the back there is a description.
All the best to this site.
this is bullshit, all parents know what the kids are playing they're just not able to tease out the T from the M rating...as a parent, i've grown certain that slaying hookers and dealers in rival gangs will translate perfectly for a liberal arts education, GTA is just like working in corporate america, halo 3 teaches team work, yadda yadda yadda...
