Jason Pontin admits he has no ideas

Jason PontinWe thought it amusing, if a bit sad, when Technology Review editor-in-chief started asking for startups to pitch him for his New York Times column on Facebook. But for him to continue the apparently unanswered plea, more than a week later? Maudlin veering on pathetic. Please, someone with an interesting startup to profile — do yourself a favor, stop flinging yourself on the rocky shoals of Valleywag, and try Pontin instead. We hear he's easy.

  • Bastard! It's perfectly appropriate IMHO for me to ask a variety of sources, in a variety of media, about which companies are worth writing about. I would never promise I would write about something pitched me on Facebook; in fact, nothing any one has suggested has piqued my interest. But, who knows? Some one might suggest something interesting

  • Technology Review has really been dropping the ball on understanding innovation on the internet. Their TR35 this year had a lot of internet people who didn't do anything nearly as innovative or genius as the biological and chemical innovations represented in the TR35.

  • Owen Thomas, if this works I'll start subscribing to CNBC and tell them your cameos are the reason.
