Market Truths Limited is a for-real market research firm that suggests radical ideas like virtual focus groups and demographic modeling to figure out what Second Lifers want. Jon Goldstein, contest judge and partner at Catamount Ventures (an early investor in Second Life creators Linden Lab), said proudly of Market Truths, "People will pay them a lot of money, so ... it's a really good business." Here's hoping, Jon.

  • It's like Latin majors. The only job they can get is ... teaching Latin.

  • Insufficiently meta, it's not the true bubble yet. This is just offering services to the existing megacorps that Second Life is being pitched to, the same way that web design companies represented the first boom, because your business needed to be on the internet whether or not you had a business reason to be there.

    When you see somebody with a business idea geared to helping develop the "creativity and entrepreneurship" of Second Life startups, like the third- and fourth-place finishers here, that's when you'll know. Because what the world needs is a Second Life incubator.

  • The Second Life Linden dollar economy is short for this world anyway. The only people likely to make any money are those billing in boring old real money. Like these guys. lol. Maybe people are reading my blog after all.
