Microsoft's Zune is, according to the increasingly desperate and artificial hype, a next-generation digital music device, an iPod killer, perfectly in tune with our on-the-go socially networked existence. It's embargoed for retail sale until next Tuesday, when stores will be stormed by desperate consumers. Except it's already, mistakenly, on sale at Union City Landing's Best Buy, in the East Bay. Blog FLX-Tech has photographic proof. And even a more professional restriction of supply, along the lines of Sony's rollout of the PS3, won't make people line up for Zunes.
