A story making the rounds about Terry Semel's diminished credibility within Yahoo. The internet portal CEO called a big internal meeting, about a month ago, to rally the troops to the company's strategy. Anyway, Semel said something that provoked booing, apparently. To which he responded by challenging critics to leave the company if they didn't like its direction. I picture Nicolae Ceausescu, the Romanian dictator, losing control of an assembled crowd during that country's revolution? Probably just a few malcontents, in mundane reality, muttering at the back. But, still, would love to hear details — what exactly did he say? how hostile was the audience? — from our beloved readers at Yahoo.
