The ugly face of blog marketing

I heart HPI had assumed that Pay Per Post, the blog marketing firm which pays its 'posties' to write nice things about corporate clients, would disappear before I was caught up in the general indignation. Wrong. The venture, which is backed by Tim Draper of DFJ, has roped Hewlett Packard, a legendary Silicon Valley brand, into its latest nauseating stunt, to promote HP's digital cameras. In the clip below, watch the blog marketing gurus hand over $1,000 in cash to Robyn Nykaza, a Chicago mother-of-four who works as a postie to make ends meet — after she allows them to scrawl, "I <heart> HP", on her forehead. Classy. See to believe.
