You'll have noticed a few changes, today, on the site. First of all, we're displaying the most recent comment, in the right margin, along with the count of pageviews for each item's inside page. Second, we've introduced a new "quicklink" style, for short headlines, which don't necessarily warrant a full rant. And, finally, we're pulling in excerpts from some new sources.
Valleywag has automatically showcased exclusive stories on Gigaom. If Om Malik has a scoop, there's really not much point in us rehashing it: best just to reprint the tech title's excerpt, and link you through to the full story. We're adopting the same system for a selection of other blogs and publications, including Uncov.com, the ornery tech reviewers, and Paul Kedrosky. The volume shouldn't be overwhelming. We'll winnow stories during the course of the day to ensure we don't duplicate.
We rushed through these changes, sloppily, so the site may be glitchy on some unusual browsers. Please let us know if you're having problems. Oh, and one last thing: as well as excerpts from our favorite blogs, we'll highlight contributions from our smartest commenters. That's not yet live, but wait a few days. And do send me in any recommendations for commenters we should feature.
