The scene: the Moscone Center West, where O'Reilly is throwing the Web 2.0 Expo, an opportunity for web entrepreneurs to spend yet more of the venture money they haven't yet raised. The time: 1.20pm, the after-lunch rushhour, at the Level 2 men's restroom. One attendee is overheard saying: "Uh oh. We've got network congestion." A fellow wag replies: "Can we offload traffic to a proxy?" The web may be moving on, but geek humor remains a constant.
