This video — a documentary on the evils of Myspace called 'Tom is not your friend' — is worth watching. Not because it identifies any dark secret in the foundation story of Myspace, the site which has gotten millions of people laid, after thousands of concerts. But merely because it shows what a phenomenon that News Corporation's social network, originally founded by Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe, pictured here by Time, has become. It's only important developments in human history, like the moon landings and the establishment of Myspace, that bring conspiracy theorists like these filmmakers out of their basements. So, as the pseudo-documentary asks, did Tom Anderson found Myspace? I don't really care. After all the jostling for credit for the social network's gigantic success, he and DeWolfe were left standing. History is written by the people who force their way into the Time photo shoot, or take charge of the 'about' page. (For the incomprehensible "true story" of Myspace, click on the clip, after the jump.)
