NICK DENTON — In happier days, at a celebratory Brentwood party last year: Arianna Huffington, the host and political blogger extraordinaire, Lloyd Braun of Yahoo on the left, and Nick Denton of Gawker on the right. Now: Lloyd Braun is out of Yahoo, Arianna Huffington is ghost-writing for George Clooney, and I'm reduced to armchair blogging.

Oh c'mon. Arianna is a mogul and you're having a blast.
12 a day...and not one Marissa Mayer-related posting since 11/12/06...
Nick, we're sure you'll get back to her shenanigans, after the Braun/Garlinghouse/Semel Götterdämmerung completely unwinds...
and just like what happened when lloyd left ABC (yes, with valleywag historically too busy covering marissa meyer's fashion shoots it's hardly surprising that it hasn't had much time to read the entertainment trades - or heck, even wikipedia - to learn not only that lloyd was OF COURSE the namesake of the seinfeld character but also that he and susan lyne were axed at ABC just before their line-up - Lost, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy - became the biggest programming success of the last 5 years) he will be vindicated when what he created at YMG becomes the only reason that Yahoo's relevant anymore. While Jeff "so far I have failed at both Search and Video, is there anything else I can destroy?" Weiner will inevitably get some of the glory for Lloyd's work, it will be Lloyd who made it all happen. Sure, the Y lifers who have been trashing him here all along might not have liked him but weren't they the same group that thought Yahoo 360 was a good idea?
Wow, look at the sweater puppies on Arianna! Who knew?
I'd pursue her for my wife, but I'm not nearly rich enough...or gay enough.
c'mon Nick, "armchair blogging?", you've made me read Valleywag again even if you were kind of late to the townhouse story. the observer and curbed had that a month ago.
