Google has become such a corporate colossus, and the search engine's chief exec so media-trained, that it's easy to forget the company's quirky youth. When Eric Schmidt, the former Novell chief exec, interviewed for the Google job, he stood out to the search engine's founders because he was the only candidate who had been to Burning Man.
