There's a facial expression I want to make about HP chairwoman Patricia "I swear I didn't mean to start a front-page corporate scandal" Dunn's acceptance speech upon entering the Bay Area Council's Hall of Fame tonight. But real people can't do the reverse eye-squint this face requires — only webcomic characters like Penny Arcade's Tycho can.

The cringe-inducing quote:

"All I will say about the maelstrom is that I look forward eagerly, in the near future, to setting the record straight and going back to leading my life as discretely as possible," Dunn said during her acceptance speech. "And in the meantime, it wouldn't hurt if the Pope continued to make controversial comments to grab the attention of the press."

Dunn later said she recognized the irony. (She also appreciates a good laugh at the expense of Christian-Muslim relations.) Still took the damn award though. And, says the Associated Press, "reporters were barred from approaching Dunn."
