Anne Wojcicki, the much-liked biotech analyst who got engaged to Sergey Brin of Google over the holidays, has left her job as an analyst in order to start a personal genetics startup. Wojcicki is one of the founders of 23 and Me, a venture based in Mountain View which promises to make sense of customer's genetic information. Genetic testing for consumers is a field with growth prospects, and Wojcicki wants to "solve medical mysteries and unite the world with DNA", but it's controversial. For instance, imagine if it became standard practice for couples to take genetic tests before marriage.

Google + DNA testing = the ultimate personals website??
Don't be evil. Yeah, right.
nothin' new, in many jewish commmunities couples take dna genetic test before they get married, (do a gfoogle search on 'Dor Yesharim')
Tay-Sachs is Jewish genetic disease. It is fatal and most children who are born with it die before the age of three but not before they become blind, deaf and have other ailments. So it makes sense for them to test... not for Google to create a world like Gattaca.
