Valleywag
It's traditional for an exiting Gawker Media editor to write a farewell post. I don't have anything to get across, other than that I'm free for lunch and gig offers for the next few weeks, so I'll just thank the people who, as my friend Paul put it, "write Valleywag for free."
Thanks to everyone who clued me in and wrote the jokes for me, especially Paul Boutin, Chris Nolan, Owen Thomas, Kevin Marks, Scott Beale, and Eran Globen.
Thanks to Valleywag writer Megan McCarthy, who won't be leaving the tech gossip circuit any time soon.
Thanks to the commenters — who, I see, haven't let up this week — especially BlackJack, and except for ResearchZilla.
And thanks to my readers and tipsters, many of whom violated NDAs, company policy, and the sanctity of the men's room in service of gossip. Please do the same for my successor, so I can keep reading this site.
I guess what I really mean to say is — I prefer Italian, maybe a little sushi, and if you want any gossip about Nick Denton you'll have to pony up for some wine.

hah! except for me! i really feel special this time...nick, just remember what the beatles said, 'in the end the love you give is equal to the love you get' - or in plain language, you may have some bad tech space karma...i'm certain that you'll do well as you move on (but remember, retail means long crazy hours!), though i think that valleywag is about to lose 90 percent of readership excluding those who already moved on because they were tired of reading the love-him-hate-him posts on arrington...so yeah, bookmark my own rants that i rarely pay attention to at www.passingnotes.com (but yes, salty language, and no, i don't violate nda's to juice eyeballs)
Now I feel closure. Nick Douglas rocked the muthafuckin house on Valleywag. Denton's turning it into BusinessWeek, only without the Amanda Congdon interviews BW seems to be getting.
