Things we learned from today's Wall Street Journal profile of TechCrunch blog founder Michael Arrington
- "The blogger, who once dated a Miss Universe contestant from Denmark..." Hold the phone. One of these? Free copy of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to whoever finds a photo of Mike and this Miss Denmark. E-mail to tips@valleywag.com.
- "Two years ago, Mr. Arrington was a surf bum in southern California." A surf bum who was practicing law, which makes this more of a riches-to-riches story, but still.
- "Mr. Arrington...says many companies 'deserve their moment in the limelight.'" Oh good, now he's taken the starmaker talk to heart.
- "Mr. Arrington declines to divulge his net worth but says TechCrunch brings in about $120,000 in revenue a month, mostly from ads, sponsorships and an online job-posting service." Okay now I just want to punch him.
