Lucy Southworth isn't just Google founder Larry Page's fiancée. Since 2003, she's been a student at Stanford's Biomedical Informatics program, and it looks like she'll have more to celebrate in Necker Island than just her upcoming wedding. A tipster tells us:
Lucy Southworth will succeed where Larry and Sergey cannot. She just passed her oral exam for her doctorate last week. So at least there will be one doctor in the family.Page and Brin, of course, dropped out of their Ph.D. programs to start this thing called Google. Heard of it? But don't call Lucy "Dr. Southworth" quite yet. Stanford confers diplomas on a quarterly basis, and, as far as the university registrar's office is concerned, she's still listed as a student.

I love that she's smart. Smart girls rule!
I'd tap that. Unfortunately, I don't have a 20 billion dollar penis.
smart enough to earn a piece of paper but not smart enough to drop out and become a billionaire. Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Steve Jobs, Sergey and Larry; need I go on?
PhD is definitely a great achievement. I am sure that she had strong support from Google guys. Good for her
good for her, just assumed she was an airheaded blonde gold digger. mus remind myself ... shouldn't judge... shouldn't judge....
@mikelamb, nah. Smart rich guys never pick those kinds of women. Just the dumb ones :)
