Busted! Kyle Shank of Uncov, Valleywag's favorite startup-snark site, acted so coy when I asked him what he and coconspirators Ted Dziuba and Matt Kent were working on. But it turns out they've been hiding in plain sight all this time, as commenter bushido pointed out.. Shank's day job is CEO and founder of Persai, a recommendations system for the Internet, whatever that means. It sounds like exactly the kind of vague yet overweening ambition Uncov would mock, actually.
The Uncov guys' startup, uncovered

Owen, man, you're busting my balls over here. Why didn't you tag this article with my name? I feel cheated. -Ted
Valleywag is busting my balls. Owen Thomas just figured out that we, the Uncov writers, are working on a startup of our own. Really, anyone who had a little bit of Google-fu or hung out in our IRC channel (#uncov on Freenode!)
ball ache ball ache ball ache ball ache. (oh god i wanted to do that so badly)
For the record, I've queried Kyle about Persai on several occassions. What Kyle, Matt and Ted are building sounds quite impressive. Granted, just like you (Valleywag) there is an unnerving sense of "umm...k...not gonna work!". But I've seen Kyle's work in RadRails, the chops are there, the brains are there, the drive is there and not to mention the monies (at least for now, lol). So I say, what's there to lose?
Valleywag, if you're going to ball-ache make sure you actually have something to ball-ache about.
Feeds, EC2, clever name, beta release? OMG it's web2.0! At least they're using Hadoop. That's so totally cool.
@uncoveditor: To keep you hungry for more, of course.
Mwwwaaahaaahaaa !!!!!
This is for new Uncov's tagline: "Throwing stones in the glasshouse"
Best reason to read Uncov is the the graphics. Might be the only reason, but they are the funny.
Haha... this startup is shittier than Pownce!
