MEGAN — There is so much hypocrisy to expose, puffery to deflate, and sloppy thinking to disentangle, but Valleywag's mission isn't entirely destructive. Our first HERO award goes to Bill Watkins, CEO of hard drive maker Seagate, for services to the English language. After a day sifting jargon, obfuscation and hype, it is a relief to come across this description, from Watkins, of his company's mission: "Let's face it, we're not changing the world. We're building a product that helps people buy more crap - and watch porn."

Bill should have gone further and said "Lets face it, we're building a product that helps people burn what they got on Netflix and downloaded from Bittorrent".
As a Seagate alum, I can confirm that Bill is not too worried about what other people think. He routinely walks around looking disheveled.
I once heard someone mention, "Hey, I think a homeless guy got into the building."
"No, that's our (then) COO."
