Another Valleywag rumor confirmed — Google launched its Google Page Creator today. This is the rumored Trogdor project — basically Geocities 2.0.
So I tested it out — here's my Google Pages home page. Refreshingly retro, and complete with a cat photo.
Looks like a 20%-time project. Geez, maybe Larry was right — time to stop playing around and focus back on search.

Good, because I was really looking to make my "homepage" look like it was from 1997. Now all we need are some animated gifs.

20%? We should be so lucky, this is -200%, I mean where on God's Green Earth, will you find someone wanting to time-warp back to the overloud, downright horrible, 1996 HTML style? Well, ok, MySpace...but outside of that...
You can upload your own site design and just link people to that instead of using google's templates.
