Microsoft looks at Revver, respectfully declines

microsoft%20revver.jpgPerhaps disturbed by the collective yawn that greeted the beta launch of their video-sharesite Soapbox, Microsoft is manifesting an interest in buying out an established site — such as Revver. The MSN goons were reportedly sniffing around Revver's office last month to see what they could stripe-mine in terms of tech and personnel. But the takeover amour must have cooled, as nothing further occured. For his part, Revver CEO Steven Starr declared:
Revver is not for sale. We believe we are in the right place at the right time with the right technology, and we continue to focus on enhancing the Revver service and forging new distribution deals.
Plus there's always next year's Emmy awards.

  • It's true that Microsoft's SoapBox is lame - I tried it before official release already. It is also funny how Microsoft employees upload videos to YouTube - and just not to be accused of not eating dog food - also to SoapBox.

Anyway as of now only blip.tv offers download of the original video file...
