In a piece on the financial travails of David Hayden, the New York Times reports the entrepreneur is seeking additional funding for his latest ill-starred venture, a little-known browser companion called Jeteye. Hayden, who owes more than $30m to his personal bankers, would do well to deal with the landlord before approaching investors. At Jeteye's padlocked offices on Pacific Avenue in San Francisco, a new notice has gone up demanding payment of back rent. Here's a snap, from a passerby. CONTINUED

  • a 'tweener area that's not too cheap (north beach & finance district). Homey should have rolled TL if he were serious about giving this thing a legit shot and saving on the dollaz.

  • That is not cheap real estate. That's the artsy Jackson Square neighborhood, well known for its antique shops and restaurants and the utterly kickass William Stout Architectural Books.

    Myth is on the other side of the street; the legendary Ernie's (Kim Novak in Hitchcock's "Vertigo", 1958) used to be around the corner on Montgomery; the Bubble Lounge is a couple blocks down and Bix is on Gold Street.

    I think Hayden blew his wad on the office digs.
