Not quite the image that Apple might have wanted. This man's at the head of the line for the iPhone at the Apple store on Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan. Gizmodo snagged a video interview. Ladies, he's single. And he'll have one of the first of Apple's new wondertoys.
First in line for the iPhone

I swear I saw this guy in line for the last Star Wars movie.
Wasn't he first in line for Serenity as well?
What a schmuck. Standing inline for 4+ days waiting to buy a $600 phone, and he is asking for donations and food.
Sorry, I gave all my donation monies to the American Cancer Society, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity and a whole host of other organizations that deserve a million times more money than this guy.
Looks like Phil Schiller's long lost brother....
Do you think he can really afford an iPhone? He was probably hired by one of those scumbags that use the homeless to get them to do their dirty work, like wait in line for the latest Xbox to come out. Buy high and sell higher!
Thanks for "clarifying" his single status. I'm sure there were lots of dames, even myself, wondering! Maybe single but certainly not sexy! He also has no job or no life to boot.
@Ladyz: you're right. He might not even be interested in girls. Most of the Mac users I know are either gay or still in the closet.
Then again, most gay guys look better than that.
I'm doing with sweeping stereotypes for the day.
doing->done. Gawker needs an "edit" button!!
The guy is retired, this is what retired people do. Stop being cynical :-)
The first two guys outside the Soho store seem saner and clean. Plus, they're waiting for charity!
Well, he has nothing better to do since the Yankees are losing. Note the shirt!
I know that guy! He drives around my neighborhood real slowly in a van with no windows
He's a professional liner-upper, in that he does this stuff all the time time. [www.editorandpublisher.com]
On another interview he admitted he had no Mac nor iPod, he's not an Apple fan, just someone who looks for publicity by lining up.

Maybe Apple can work him into a future iPhone commercial a la Paul McCarthy or as a b-boy.
Channel 11 interviewed this guy around 7 a.m. today. He was shirtless and looked about how you think he might look. Only worse.
