It's a modern-day Web 2.0 romance: TechCrunch hypes website, TechCrunch buys website. InviteShare, a site which put itself up for sale shortly after TechCrunch reviewed it, now shows that its domain name is registered in Michael Arrington's name. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just buy it first, before the hype ran its price up, though? [Techomical]

No one said Arrington has any business sense.
PS: InviteShare's color scheme is so bad, it gives me a headache.
dude, it was a perfect buy for tech crunch, and fits perfectly into what his entire site is all about - and honestly, it would have cost him nearly as much to build something as decent on his own, and it would have taken months..so he has it now, and one or two months of ad underwriting will cover any associated costs (or, according to according, just 2 days of techcrunch ad revenue will cover the cost ;)
It is a good fit for TC honestly, Arrington still sucks though :)
