So it turns out that Google's festivities on the Greek island of Rhodes were officially part of its European Sales Conference — but was it also the official company party? One commenter says no. One Google employee says yes:

And as a tipster who found the video above points out, there's a big "Happy Birthday" sign in lights that match the Google logo colors. As for the world record for the largest syrtaki, isn't that particular dance traditionally performed at birthdays and weddings? It was also a shared passion of greek dance that united NLS creator Douglas Engelbart and other techies associated with the early days of the Valley, along with LSD and est. But then, a number of European companies have attempted the Syrtaki record on retreats to Greece over the years. Only the Oracle of Mountain View knows.
