While Democrats converge on Denver to visualize an Obama-Biden future, San Jose is putting on its tech-colored glasses for NVISION 08. Starting today the conference promises three days of visual computing gluttony that includes: Guinness Book of World Records-level gaming, a digital art gallery, Myth Busters' Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage blowing (or at least shooting) something up, as well as a full line of conference programming and hands-on workshops for industry professionals, academic researchers, and enthusiasts. If you are too worried about the online economic climate for fun and games, SDForum's "Virtual Economies with Real Results," will be exploring Entropia at Pilsbury's Silicon Valley Office in Palo Alto tonight at 6:30 p.m. Entropia reports 800,000 users who have generated $400 million USD to date.
