Leo LaPorte, "drunk and out of control," calls for Kevin Rose boycott

Why is tech podcaster Leo LaPorte picking a fight with Digg's Kevin Rose? He's jealous of Rose's Twitter following, and is making it a requirement that his Twit.tv listeners drop Rose and add him on Twitter to be eligible for a giveaway. LaPorte later regretted the call for a Rose ban, saying he was "drunk and out of control." Isn't that a prerequisite for listening to a podcast, let alone producing one?

I know everyone gets drunk. However, it seems peeps are more prone to divulge this fact on twitter (and some other web 2.0 sites) more freely...especially the older folks. Odd considering it is something that can come back to...

Jesus Christ, this is pathetic. Not Leo -- I think he's actually good as a talking head so long as he has a producer to keep him from spouting too much of an opinion on anything, which will invariably be wrong. But what the hell happened to waking up in a pool of your own vomit with a dead hooker tied to the headboard? Someday they're going to make a movie of Web 2.0 containing 120 minutes of action-packed twittering and sending bitches smiley faces and drinking too many frappacinos and screaming KAWAII!! at awkward moments I'm going to be very proud to be the first one to urinate on the person sitting in front of me and storm out of the theater.

I was watching his stream pretty much all day Sunday while I puttered around and he hadn't been drinking. He was joking about being drunk. He had, however, been working all day with his 3 hour radio show, an hour+ twit and trying to get his new twitlive thing going.

I thought it was funny how Leo was busting Diggnation (Kevin's show) for being less grown up or 'immature' target audience and doesn't want them, then minutes later starts begging for twitter followers, asks folks to un-friend Kevin and then gives away bribes/prizes all because he said he can't stand getting beat on Twitter....ironic that he became the very thing he was criticizing Diggnation for....
