Oakland-based custom online radio site Pandora, reeling from an increase in Web-radio royalty rates, could get purchased by national radio conglomerate Clear Channel. When I start hearing Jon Mayer on my Pinback channel, I'll be looking for a utensil sticking out of them.
This is such bullshit. Companies like Pandora that actually create something useful and new get swallowed up and ruined by the fat useless corporate lackies, who nothing but sit on their asses all day giving powerpoint presentations and taking ad agencies out to lunch.
The only thing that they guarantee is that I'll hear less music with more distractions, and the actual music will be the same eight songs.
ClearChannel has much bigger issues on their plate right now than Pandora.
Hmm, hope that doesn't change Pandora. It's a great site and has me listening to more music than ever before. No DJ's or 10 minute commercial breaks is wonderful!
