"I have a major problem with many of the Web 2.0 companies that I meet in my job as a venture capitalist: They lack even the most basic understanding of Internet operations." — Panorama Capital's Allan Leinwand, on how Web developers ignore the basics of Internet connectivity [GigaOm]

I think Ted just found his VC soulmate.
I like this guy. The internet sure is hard stuff, let's go shopping!
I'd have to agree, at least half of the web2.0 customers that I've consulted for miss the basic tenets of site reliability and software scalability. Its like someone unleashed a pile of unskilled fresh out of college programmers upon the world and then the interwebs absorbed them... oh wait, THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS!
Seriously, some of these sites are hillarious on the backend.
Congrats, Ted.
This guy is right on the money.
Most of these startups don't know their head from a hole in the ground when it comes to scalability.
Is this surprising? These are the same people who are paying a grand for someone to hack some CSS for their Tumblrs.
Duh!
