Digg cofounder Jay Adelson is now asked by the likes of Kara Swisher how he'd fix big media companies, as in this clip. But there was a time when he barely knew what to do with his own Internet startup, Equinix. That tale and more covers 54 out of 294 pages in Once You're Lucky, Twice You're Good, Sarah Lacy's soon-to-be-released book about Web 2.0. The first page of the book's index, one of many to come:

The Web 2.0 version of The Gashlycrumb Tinies? I am so down with this! Who gets devoured by mice?
@random_play: wow, nice reference
"Agape, 170"
So I see a goatse reference made it into the book.
Only four mentions of me? The book sucks.
Aspergers is on the next page, right?
Sarah Lacy wrote a book?
@Ted Dziuba: Adelson founded Equinix!?
Asking Adelson how he would fix Big Media!? WTF? Isn't that like asking your local Toxic Hell counter worker how they would fix high gas costs?
Harry "ask me how I would fix New Media" Wang
Just look at that ugly mug... Now we know why Kevin Rose is the face man for Digg!
Jay had the vision for carrier neutral exchange points back in 1997 and founded Equinix then. Equinix provides a solution for the interconnection of most global networks. Networks have to interconnect and do it with infinite scale in order for the internet to work as most expect it to. So it's not such a far fetched notion to ask him how he would solve the woes of big media companies who require huge amounts of capacity to most carrier networks.
You Digg?
Comment on A is for Adelson, who cofounded Digg Equinix now has a market cap in excess of $3b and is strongly cash flow positive. It is one of the technical lynchpins of the Internet. If Valleywag disappeared, no one would ever know or care. If Equinix disappeared, there would be a massive and prolonged disruption in the delivery of essentially all Internet content. Jay Adelson and Al Avery, the founds of Equinix were visionaries. And no, I dont work for them.
