Tonight, VentureBeat is having their soiree at The Ambassador and Baron Davis (of some athletic club called the Warriors), Cash Warren and Abdul Khan of IBeatYou.com will also be there. The Ivy Plus Society is launching in SF, a social group for young Ivy Leaguers (and creepily old alumni) and gathering at the posh Apartment 24. For those looking for a casually good time with no need to prove your upper-crust credentials, CNET's Buzz Out Loud monthly meetup is happening at Thirsty Bear.
