Jason Calacanis once told us that he has "all the money." He got it from selling Weblogs Inc. — home of Engadget and Autoblog, among others — to AOL for $25 million. Curious to see what kind of home that kind of money buys in Los Angeles? Check out Kara Swisher's video tour of Calacanis's guest "cottage." Watch out for the bulldogs.

I'm getting motion sickness from all of that jerkiness in the video. Kara, you might want to lighten up on the booze before filming....
The beige on beige aesthetic. Very cutting edge.
WiFi...seriously?
they really are living a dream life. Lucky SOB's
After taxes, VC cut and split with co-founder Mr. Calacanis didn't more than a few million dollars. not bad but not enough to retire on.
The highlight is the shoutout to Owen, bar none.
ppl that suddenly got rich and must buy fancy cars or stuff to show off usually is trying to compensate for something.
No shoutout? That bitch is 86'ed forever.
Subway? It would have been more impressive if Jason sent Lons and Tyler out to pick up Calzones...
Comment on What kind of house does AOL's money buy? What an insane breach of journalistic ethics. Has it occurred to her bosses at the Wall Street Journal that Kara Swisher might need to cover Mahalo, Jason Calacanis or one of his myriad other projects? I think she might be less willing to ask tough questions about his projects when she's lounging by his heated pool with cute bulldogs tickling her feet.
I don't believe he spent all 25mil on the house.
that house is worth maybe $600,000 to $800,000 at most depending on location
