Matt Mullenweg charms pants off Kara Swisher, copies my hairdo

AllThingsD's Kara Swisher admits her bias in interviewing Automattic founder Matt Mullenweg: Not only does her site use his blogging software, but she admits to having a "personal mancrush" on the programmer. He is perhaps the first straight guy to receive such treatment from Swisher, who is, provably, a mean lesbian. I think it's the hair: Mullenweg stole the retro-fauxhawk look from yours truly, I believe. Swisher does ask Mullenweg, "How do you make money at this?" But she's too crushed out to point out that Mullenweg already has made money, at least for himself, by selling a chunk of his company to investors. A digest of the interview:

Good interview. I particularly liked the crashing of cafeteria stainless steel knives in the background, so loud that even the interviewee lost his train of thought.

what a stupid place for an interview, I had to stop 1/2 through because the background noise was so distracting.

And how can a woman have a mancrush? Wouldnt it just be a crush? Unless Kara is a man.

Good interview, Matt seems to really have his head on his shoulders. I think with numbers that big, they can obviously take their time figuring out the steps to monetization (if they haven't already), and make sure they do it right.

I agree with his stance on social networks too. I think media will come full circle and you will start to see more significance on the content being produced. After all, it is the content provided by traditional media that helps fuel sites like Digg or Reddit. No matter how much you may hate the old, the relationship will always be symbiotic; there is no getting away from it.
