The dollar's sinking value wasn't the only reason Google crushed Wall Street's expectations for the company's first quarter. The Church of Scientology helped, in its own small way. The church paid for advertising space on YouTube to convey its message that "you are an immortal spiritual being. Your capabilities are unlimited." That is, if you can stomach the olive oil shots and spare a little cash. We're surprised Google's human filters didn't catch the ad. We've heard they're plenty familiar with the way an organization can use crafty words to create false expectations in order to lure warm bodies.

This title's pretty misleading, ne? You're making it sound like Scientology and Google teamed up, when in fact they just slipped an AdWord ad in and Google didn't notice. I'm sure they'll take it down when someone sees this post.
uh dude i dont think so. That ad doenst look like a simple adword ad. It looks like a premium ad. And in order to get a premium ad for youtube u need to be talking to some google ad sales.
And dont act surprised. Google are just humans. Wave some money infront of their face and they will do anything.
Dont think so dude. That looks like a preium ad. Not a simple adword sign up. Thye would have consulted a google ad sales rep in order to get this ad up. Google are just humans like you and me. Give em enough money and they will do anything.
@shamess: Why would they take it down? What's wrong with it?
They should target it for the Anonymous videos.
Scientology isn't just bumping up Google's bottom line... they may be pulling some strings to get top critics of theirs suspended from YouTube. Just the latest in their proud tradition of censorship (and not the first time they've had Google on their side).

Do no evil... unless you're getting paid enough?
It's too bad Google decided to take down Mark Bunker's youtube account (xenutv1). He's shown tremendous courage speaking out against the Cult of Scientology.
The videos have been put back up on a variety of platforms, to hopefully prevent their loss:
